I have W7 Home Premium with Outlook 2007. No matter what I do with the .eml file, it just makes it an attachment to a new email! I have tried ‘open with’ using Outlook. I have dropped it into folder and dropped it into the folder I have open. Same results each time! Any thoughts? Thanks, Joe

Finally, after 20 some years of lost or unreadable email messages, finally Microsoft’s new OUTLOOK.COM can now store automatically all email on the local hard disk of the user’s PC. However, the stored email files are given only a coded name, suffixed with .eml, that making them impossible to identify anything about them. IS THERE A WAY TO CORRELATE THE CODES (NAMES) IN THAT STORAGE DIRECTORY, WITH THE ACTUAL MESSAGE? In other words, does the coded name relate to a date, or sender’s name, or subject or anything?
At times I need to verify that an old message is indeed stored locally, but the directory shows them in arbitrary sequence. Only the day that group of messages were stored is shown, and that can be a months email (hundreds), that otherwise will have to be opened one by one in order to identify them.
A typical email name looks like this: 5D456576-00000CEF.eml
    Any ideas?
